BLURB:
Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says "Great southern flavor!" and "Jack is an alluring leading man!"

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

REVIEW:

I love surprises, but even more so I love to end a book with a “did that just happen?” thought in my head. This was a great start and even though I seriously hate cliffhangers, I have to say I loved this one. I have also read that this sounds like a real life celebrity story, but in Hollywood anything can happen and its much better in a book. I’ll just say it was a great romance with some great tension and I read it all in one sitting.

Eversea follows Kerri Ann Butler, who lives in a small town near the ocean. She and her brother only have each other, while her brothers away at school Kerri works hard in a diner and creates beautiful art on the side. But in a small town, one stranger will change everything for her. Jack Eversea walked right into Kerri’s diner and into her heart. But nothing is ever simple when it comes to being a celebrity and Jack has a lot of baggage that may pull the two apart and challenge a blossoming romance.

Kerri Ann is a sweet down to earth kind of girl; she has been stuck trying to figure out the next step in her life, but has time while her brother finishes school. That is until Jack Eversea, a famous movie star asks for Kerris help in keeping him hidden. Soon the duo start to open up and see that there is something special going on. Kerri comes to realize there is a ton of chemistry between them; both are conflicted because of his life and her innocent heart. I love how Kerri defended herself and was “real”; she didn’t care for him being famous or care about the consequences of being with someone like him. She saw through all his layers and in Boyd’s writing she brought out the “real” Jack Eversea, and made the reader’s fall for him like Kerri does.

Jack Eversea is in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, being a celebrity is tough but even more so when his girlfriend is caught cheating. He goes to escape for a while and discovers that all along he was missing something, even though he thought he had it all. Jack irritated me and made me love him all at the same time; he is definitely cocky but slowly starts to see that his life could be better if he wasn’t famous. There are some super hot moments with Kerri and Jack; these two have some excellent chemistry.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. In all seriousness I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did but it hooked me and I fell into the whirlwind romance. There are some great secondary characters that include, Kerri’s best friend Jazz and Kerri’s brother Joey, who help her through the up and down romance with Jack. Plus there are the “villains” or the characters that seriously need to be punched in the face. But they made for some great twists. In the end there is a cliffhanger, but it’s a good one and the second book it out so the readers wont have to wait forever to read it!! I can’t wait to see what happens next.

RECOMMENDATION:

This is a new adult novel with sexual content that might not be suitable for readers under 18+. Fans of authors of Wait for you by Jennifer Armentrout and Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols will love Eversea.
